Smart Grid Circle 2016
At this year’s Smart Grid Circle at IBM Research in Rüschlikon, Paolo Sebben holds a much-respected lecture on the democratization of IoT.
The open standard LoRa allows cities or utilities to build and manage their own wireless networks for IoT applications – independentely and at low cost. Zmartnet.com offers a solution for the management of antennas and applications and data flows. Many different applications can run in parallel and be managed on the same network.

The Post checks to support their business-relevant IoT projects to build up their own IoT platform. For validation of the technology and the business cases a zmartnet network has ben set up with a remarkable amount of use cases which have been implemented. The project happended in collaboration between the Post, zmartnet, IBM and other partners.

Stadtwerke St.Gallen and zmartnet make Internet of Things a reality!
Stadtwerke St.Gallen (SGSW) and effectas are jointly working on the IoT (Internet of Things) for the future Smart City of Sankt Gallen. For applications such as smart metering, car park management and waste management, a radio-based machine to machine communication network is being created. As part of the Smart City Initiative, more services will follow. The applications run on effectas’ LoRa® platform zmartnet.
